- I started watching barney miller as a child, the opening theme song is the reason I started playing the bass, I just wanted to learn that cool smooth sounding bass line, thanks to the entire cast and crew for those great years of laughter and a wonderful wonderful show!!!!!!!!!

- Some time ago I watched a TV special on comedy series that rated Seinfeld the best ever. At the time I agreed, but after watching some Barney Miller episodes again I am not so sure. The best thing about Seinfeld were the real life situations that it featured and the excellently drawn and acted secondary characters. But Barney Miller situations were also real life as the many policemen who are ardent fans attests. It also included insightful commentary on important issues. And it was always as funny as Seinfeld, sometimes much funnier. Ya, I guess Barney is the best ever.

- Have you fellow 12th Precinctites heard the news? (Drum roll please.) Shout Factory picked up the DVD licensing rites to BARNEY MILLER and are going to release the entire series this October the 25th! According to www.tvshowsondvd.com, this new set will include exclusive and brand new bonus features including cast interviews (with Hal Linden, Max Gail, and Abe Vigoda) and even a 32-page commemorative book. It will also include the original never-before-seen pilot, commentaries on selected episodes, and even (Are you ready for this?) Season 1 of FISH...that's right, Abe Vigoda's spin-off show which lasted 2 seasons. How do ya like THEM apples?

I am happy to see the guestbook back online. I had visited a month ago, and was disappointed that my post never showed up with the old guestbook. I have watched Barney Miller since the first episodes, and am happy to see this website about one of my favorite t.v. shows of all time.
